Wedding Services

Located amidst the whispering lodge pole pines and aspens sits a remote, private refuge of thirty acres - Solace Cabin, a place that can offer smaller, intimate destination weddings. Cushioned deep within the rustle of the tall trees and winding paths and roads lies a cabin overlooking the surrounding mountain ranges enlivened by the sounds of nature and its wildlife. This rustic outdoor setting has a little niche of heaven laid aside for that special occasion where bride and groom can exchange vows in the solitude of the mountains closest to God.

Melissa and David Shipek invite you to join them in this haven where you can be offered an inclusive package with little effort on your behalf for both the rehearsal dinner or the wedding itself. Located about forty-five miles south of Jackson Hole, Wyoming at 8,000 feet sits their log cabin on the top of a knoll. Inclusive in this site package is a private chef , a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Scottsdale, Arizona, who can offer a variety of menus dependent on what you wish to spend from the more casual Western BBQ off of a chuckwagon, to a more formal menu with linens, multi course buffet or china plated dinners with silverware. Bartending and alcohol would incur an additional fee.

Nestled in the trees with mountain views about two hundred yards from the cabin is an alcove with cushioned log benches for guests and an archway for floral decorations under which the couple may exchange vows. Transportation is available for those unable to walk the distance. This experienced couple can also provide names of a band, female soloist, male flutist, and florists should these be desired. In addition, Melissa and Dave also manage several condos available for rent in Jackson Hole. Wedding participants may specify what they have in mind for perfect accoutrements and a perfect wedding outdoors and they’ll be more than willing to work with them. Outdoor weddings in this setting are best suited for June through mid September. Should inclimate weather be forecast, a deposit for tent rental would be required as would the tents’ rental cost have to be added.

Unfortunately, pictures of the alcove itself are not going to be available until early summer as the site is under construction. However the current pictures at least give an idea of the surroundings.

Sometimes in the hustle and bustle and nerves of a wedding, the intimacy is lost and vows are spoken more out of rote than heart. As the years go by and the commitment to one another deepens, the desire to renew one’s vows surfaces. This wilderness retreat is a perfect place for a quiet, private ceremony with fewer guests and family.

An authentic Indian tepee nestled off road among the trees is available where a couple could celebrate an anniversary with a multi course meal delivered to the privacy of the tepee capable of being cozily warmed by a wood burning stove.
